The renovation and expansion of Schembechler Hall transformed the University of Michigan Football Performance Center into a comprehensive, high-performance training environment. The project introduced a 33,000-square-foot strength and conditioning facility featuring a state-of-the-art weight room and plyometric training hill, alongside upgraded sports medicine and recovery spaces. New hydrotherapy and cryotherapy areas support athlete wellness, while an integrated nutrition zone, expanded equipment areas, and modernized team meeting and position rooms enhance daily operations. Together, the improvements create a holistic performance hub designed to support training, recovery, and collaboration at the highest collegiate level.
My role on the project was lead interior designer for the University of Michigan Football Performance Center, guiding the design vision and execution from concept through documentation and construction administration to ensure the project was delivered as intended. The project aimed to create a state-of-the-art, high-performance environment aligned with the program’s operational needs and team culture. Key spaces included a one-of-a-kind weight room with an overlooking basketball court and a custom hydrotherapy suite with integrated football equipment storage. The result is a unique facility that supports excellence for both coaching staff and athletes.
