MGP Headquarters

Project overview

Starting as a grain belt distillery in 1941, MGP Ingredients has since grown into a leading supplier of premium distilled spirits, branded spirits and plant based food ingredients. They partner with small startups and global brands alike to innovate in the beverage alcohol and food ingredients space and also create some of the finest branded whiskeys, ryes, bourbons, tequilas, and gin in the world.

Details

As MGP planned a move closer to the Kansas City metro, I led the design of their new workplace that translates the company’s values, culture, and craft into a space that feels both intentional and fun. The design concept was inspired by the rich tones and layered textures of American whiskey and MGP’s food ingredients, resulting in a warm, expressive palette and a workplace with a strong sense of personality.

The new office replaces an outdated environment with a space that supports both focused work and daily collaboration for a growing team of approximately 20 people. Private offices provide dedicated space for individual work, while open work areas and a central, hospitality-driven kitchen create natural opportunities for connection, informal meetings, and team gatherings. The balance of private and shared spaces allows the workplace to function efficiently while still encouraging a relaxed, social atmosphere.

The result is a workplace that reflects MGP’s brand, supports its operational needs, and captures the energy of a company excited about its future — a space designed not just to work in, but to enjoy.
